Back in October we stayed at this big beautiful rental property in the small charming town of Windham. They call this "the gem of the Catskills" This place was perfect for our group of 7 adults, 3 kids, and an infant. It can accommodate up to 14 guests. This luxurious stay had all the amenities we needed, a full kitchen filled with all the kitchen basics, coffee makers (a drip coffee maker, a Keurig , AND an Nespresso machine), a grill, fire pit, playground for the kiddos, reading material, yoga mats, and even nice hot tub (with a view) to relax in.
Here is an FPV drone video Zack shot of the main/upper level & exterior of the home--
We absolutely loved the large open space. We enjoyed family meals around the long dining room table each evening. One night we all made homemade pizzas, which was a hit! Both the kids and adults had a blast rolling dough and customizing their own pizzas! The huge patio space was awesome and provided such a lovely view. I can only imagine how it would look during full peak season or even a snowy whiteout. I thoroughly enjoyed sipping my coffee out there in peace every morning. The space included a nice outdoor table and chairs (Zack really enjoyed doing work on his laptop out there), both propane and charcoal grill, outdoor furniture, and patio lights. At night we spotted tons of deer out back and even saw an adorable black bear run through the side of the house during the day.
The only bedroom on the main level was the master bedroom which included a king size bed with a beautiful full bathroom and double sink. The lower level is where you'd find the remaining rooms - an additonal gorgeous master bedroom with a king bed, a full bathroom tub, and shower, as well as four additional regular bedrooms (one of which had 2 bunk beds), and 2 full baths.
We spent our days truly just enjoying each others company; there was a lot of friendship bracelet making, catching up, wild life peeping, snuggles, naps, children running around, giggles, laughs, and just kids being kids. We realized on day one that no one packed toys for the kids to play with and when our stay came to an end; we were so glad that we forgot them because the kids had such a good time without them. It had been well over a year that we had all been together and needed a little reunion. One thing for sure is we couldn't have been more happy with the place we chose to do this at!
Ulula Eco Resort truly would be the perfect place for a family reunion, a bachelor or bachelorette party, a birthday celebration, or just a group of friends/family who are looking to experience adventure as the area is great for skiers, hikers, and mountain bikers. Zack & I did sneak out before sunrise one morning and drove through town to do an early hike at Kaaterskill Falls!
There wasnt much water flowing when we went but I'm still loving this video Zack took of the falls!
We definitely hope to come back and enjoy more of what the area has to offer. Here is a quick link - www.ulularesort.com to find more information about the place and/or to book your stay with them directly! You can also find them on Instagram @ulularesort and via Airbnb.
